Hanoi to have 18-20 more private hospitals by 2010

Realising the policy of socialising health care services, Hanoi will create an additional 18-20 private hospitals from now to 2010, said Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, Le Anh Tuan.
Among those private hospitals, there may be one invested in by the Republic of Korea named Quang Minh with 1,000 beds and investment capital of US$200 million in Tu Liem District.
According to Mr Tuan, those hospitals will provide high-quality health care services. However, they will have to make public their service prices.
The official said that so far there was no policy of equitising any state hospital in Hanoi, though this has been done in HCM City and the central province of Thanh Hoa.
Relating to disease prevention in the summer, the Hanoi Department of Health inspected 109 food trading establishments in the first four months of 2007 and fined 28 of them a total of nearly VND70 million (US$4,300)./.(Vietnamnet)
